Winter Lake

Looking out
on Winter Lake, the geese floating by.
The water is rippling against the gray blue sky.
And I wonder what she’s
doing now, the first day of spring.
Looking out on Winter Lake wondering ‘bout everything.
My heart's been so heavy for the last week or two.
And no amount of playing can distract me from you.
And I wonder if she realizes just what I’m going through.
Looking out on Winter Lake wondering how to live without you.
We shared so
many lives together wandering through the fields of time.
I was so blessed to have finally met her and have her by my
side.
Now she’s gone, swept away by a change in tide.
As the wheel of life turns around again.
Looking out
on Winter Lake, the sun’s going down.
The twilight is flowing; there’s not a soul around.
And I wonder if they’ll ever be a time when I’m not alone.
Looking out on Winter Lake wondering on my own.
Looking out on Winter Lake wondering on my own.
